In the Usinsk district of Komi, the Pechora Interdistrict Prosecutor's office found an oil spill in the area of the oil-gathering line of the LUKOIL-Komi. It became the fifth oil spill recorded by the Pechora Prosecutor's office in the region within the year. On December 13, the press-service of Prosecutor's office of Komi reported it.
According to the Prosecutor’s office, oil-gathering line depressurized in the forest of the Usinsk district in the morning of December 11. Oil, according to the Prosecutor’s office, spilled on 0.15 hectares.
The Pechora Interdistrict Prosecutor's office estimated that this was the fifth oil spill within the year in this area, in total, the inspectors counted almost a hectare of contaminated territory, 18.6 m³ of oil products spilled onto the ground. The Pechora Prosecutor's office appealed to the court with the requirement to oil workers to liquidate the pollution twice. Inspectors did not consider these cases to be major accidents.
The inspectors noticed that the oil workers did not reclaim the land polluted in 2018 (about 0.7 hectares), and also appealed to the court about this. The court supported their demands.
